English: The Jenny Lind Society

Welcome to the Jenny Lind Society

Purpose and goals

The Jenny Lind Society was founded in Stockholm in 1943 with the purpose to honour and keep the memory of Jenny Lind, her career, life, and her deeds. The Society supports research and aquisition of objects with connection to Jenny Lind and arranges concerts, lectures and other events, for example exhibitions and visits to places of interest regarding Jenny Lind.

The Society also wants to encourage young, aspiring opera singers during their education and gives out a small scholarship which cannot be applied for.

Jenny Lind’sbirthday, October 6th, is celebrated every year with a torchlight procession to her statue at Framnäs udde at Royal Djurgården, Stockholm, Sweden, with a song and flower tribute.
